They’re on a mission to engage casual, everyday players into Web3 through accessible games like Axie Champions. This aligns with Ronin’s mission to recruit the next generation of Web3 gamers, and we’re excited to celebrate the beta launch with you!

Axie Champions is a Match3 puzzle game where you can play as your own Axie and earn rewards. The game looks, feels, and even sounds a lot like Axie. Once you start playing you will see what I mean. Choose a team of five champions and then select an Axie to join them. As you play, you can earn off-chain CUBE rewards and exchange them for AXS.
In Axie Champions, choosing the right champions and axes is the key to victory. This is because every axie class has an Affinity Advantage over axies of other classes. For example, Beast, Bug, and Mech axes deal 30% more damage against Reptile, Plant, and Dusk axes! The opposite is also true. Reptiles, plants, and twilight axes deal 30%. less Damage to Beast, Bug and Mech axes. This is enough to change the fate of the game. This is great news when you have an advantage, but there’s more to Affinity Advantage than meets the eye. The secret to dominating Axie Champions lies in team building.
Make sure your Axies and Champions have the same affinity. Axies can only ride champions with whom they share an affinity. No matching affinity and no stat boosts!
Team composition is the difference between dealing multiple +30% hits to your opponent and taking an extra 30% damage yourself. Several Axie classes are grouped into three categories: circular, triangular, and square. Think of a variation of a game like rock, paper, scissors.
Circle > Triangle > Square > Circle
The more you play the game, the better you’ll be able to utilize your Affinity advantage in battle. This Baligames exercise is a great place to start developing your skills.
