Cryptocurrency trader asks Apple Store to remove fake cryptocurrency wallet “Rabby”

Many people have reported having their funds drained from their wallets after downloading the Rabby cryptocurrency wallet, which is a fake version of the official wallet.

Rabby is an open source cryptocurrency wallet available in any internet browser for Ethereum. Designed specifically for DeFi users. This means that you can easily perform cross-chain cryptocurrency transactions through this wallet. The Rabby wallet is built and maintained by the DeBank team and is also supported on Chrome and Brave browsers.

On February 9, 2024, the Rabby Wallet team notified Rabby Wallet users that a beta mobile app for Android had been released and noted that the app was in the review process on the Apple App Store.

Just a week ago, an unknown villain released a fake version of Rabby Wallet on the Apple App Store.

On February 16, 2024, Rabby officially responded to the issue and warned people not to download the Rabby wallet from the Apple App Store as the official app is still in the review process and is not available for download. Moreover, they have now suggested downloading the app from the official website.

At the time of writing this article, this fake app is listed on the Apple App Store, which means the Apple App Store team is still waiting for action.

One person took to Reddit to let the cryptocurrency community know that some people have been losing funds from their Rabby wallets so far. Therefore, we should also be aware of these suspicious cryptocurrency wallets and Apple team should take urgent action against these fake apps.

This is not the first time malicious actors have successfully launched fake cryptocurrency wallets. In early November 2023, malicious actors released a fake version of the Ledger cryptocurrency wallet on the Microsoft App Store and successfully stole approximately 17 bitcoins.
