Kadena SpireKey integrates with WebAuthn to provide seamless Web3 interaction.

New York, NY, February 16, 2024, Chainwire

Introducing Kadena SpireKey, a human-friendly and secure way to seamlessly interact with any application by eliminating complex signing processes.

Cadena Spire Key

“Unlike today’s complex Web3 wallets, which require you to remember every wallet you’ve ever created, Kadena’s SpireKey uses WebAuthn, a technology developed by Google and Apple over the past 20 years to enable anyone to secure their digital assets directly from their phone. It helps. Or a computer. It’s as easy as receiving a message on your mobile device and providing your fingerprint as a signature. So can your uncle who asks you about cryptocurrencies at every family holiday dinner. With Kadena, we have an application that is accessible to everyone, regardless of whether they are an experienced “degen” or using blockchain for the first time,” said Mike Herron, Kadena CMO.

SpireKey creates seamless interactions between humans and technology, delivering Web2 experiences with Web3 innovations. SpireKey allows users to sign transactions and Web3 applications, similar to how it works with Apple Pay or Google Pay. However, it can be done directly on the user’s device without having to open multiple windows or copy and paste key pairs, eliminating potential vulnerabilities seen in traditional wallets.

Increased security with built-in multi-signature

“Multi-signature signing built into Kadena enables an additional layer of security for SpireKey that can only be provided through the original language, Pact. With multi-signature, SpireKey allows multiple signatures to be required for certain transaction types. For example, you can set parameters to require signatures from three devices to send over $10,000: your phone, your laptop, and your cold storage wallet. The multi-signature feature reduces the risk of account compromise because a malicious actor would need access to three devices. This mitigates the risk of another attack vector and enhances overall security,” said Stuart Popejoy, Kadena co-founder and CEO.

SpireKey demonstrates what Kadena thinks about the level of usability that Web3 technology should have. At its core, SpireKey connects humans to interact with blockchain and each other. SpireKey believes that showing real-world examples will inspire all of humanity to see how Spirekey can impact the world beyond Web3.
