Web3 Gaming Platform and Ecosystem Immutable has partnered with LiquidX, the studio behind the vibrant battle arena game Pixelmon, scheduled to launch on the recently launched Immutable Zero-Knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine (zkEVM). The goal of this collaboration is to build the world’s first fully decentralized intellectual property (IP) for monster capturing and combat. It outlines strategic steps for the further development and success of the project, starting with the implementation of a four-part relaunch roadmap.
Pixelmon, which currently ranks as the second-largest gaming NFT (Non-Fungible Token) by trading volume on OpenSea, is raising significant expectations among Web3 gamers as it plans to provide a fast-paced monster battle experience.
Under the leadership of LiquidX co-founder Giulio Xiloyannis, who has over a decade of experience overseeing digital brands such as Zalora, Pixelmon has built a core team of developers and activated a community of over 200,000 followers.

To support its ambitious roadmap, Pixelmon will leverage the Immutable zkEVM powered by Polygon to deliver custom smart contract support, advanced gameplay mechanics, token economics, and an efficient trading experience to address critical industry challenges. Designed specifically for games, the immutable zkEVM simplifies the Web3 game development process by allowing developers to leverage existing developer kits and tools and accelerate the transition to building Web3 games.
Pixelmon’s relaunch roadmap sets the stage for a decentralized multiplayer metaverse
Pixelmon’s relaunch roadmap consists of four stages, starting with the launch of a hyper-casual web game and the introduction of player vs. player (PvP) and player vs. environment (PvE) battle modes. Subsequently, an open world role-playing game (RPG) will be released, establishing a fully decentralized multiplayer metaverse owned by the Pixelmon community.
Spread across four phases, Pixelmon’s relaunch roadmap rollout includes launching a hyper-casual game in early 2024, introducing a Battle Arena mode where players can engage Pixelmon in PvP battles and PvE Horde battle modes, and launching Hunting Grounds. Includes open-world RPG gameplay, game governance token airdrops, fully decentralized multiplayer open-world adventures and the creation of monster battle arenas.
