Game studio Bazooka Tango has teamed up with Immutable to present a 10-day trial version of the revamped card game ‘Shardbound’. Use of NFTs.

From February 21st to March 1st, Shardbound’s official website is accepting registrations for an exclusive gaming experience in its latest version, ‘Ascent to the Shards’, limited to 2000 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.

Modified gameplay features include upgraded content, card distribution, gameplay UI, 2D card illustrations, and a trial option for card progression via Shardbound NFTs.

From existing games to Web3 paradigm

First released in 2017 by indie studio Spiritwalk Games, Shardbound initially appeared as a traditional PC game but failed to capture a large audience at first.

But the story changed last March when Bazooka Tango joined Immutable Games and revealed plans to modify and expand the original game with blockchain technology.

The game is getting closer to being completely rebuilt with the deployment of Immutable zkEVM, an Ethereum scaling network that recently debuted in early access.

As limited play testing approaches, both gaming giants exude optimism and ambition to demonstrate how games can effectively leverage the benefits of blockchain technology, especially NFTs.
