11th Annual OpenSimulator Community Conference Scheduled for December – Hypergrid Business

It’s that time of year again when the Open Metaverse community comes together to share developments at the annual OpenSimulator Community Conference. Organizers have requested presentation proposals for the 2023 event, which will be held on December 9 and 10.

This is the 11th year for the community-run conference highlighting the latest innovations in the OpenSim virtual world platform. This year’s focus is “to inspire our imagination and energize our community” through conversations from artists, educators, entrepreneurs and builders at the forefront of shaping the open metaverse.

This call welcomes ideas from individuals or groups that demonstrate the “WOWNESS” of the virtual world. Presenters are encouraged to share dramatic stories and utilize 3D props and visuals during their speeches. This conference seeks to highlight virtual worlds as a medium for creativity, rich experiences, and real-world impact.

In addition to more than 30 main stage presentations, the two-day event includes evening socials with live music and art exhibitions. There will also be a launch party on Friday December 8th to kick off the event. The community also sponsors tours and events throughout Hypergrid after the main conference.

Previous conferences have attracted up to 800 attendees to hear the latest on OpenSim developments, innovative community projects, and the possibilities of interconnected virtual worlds.

If you have a great idea for a talk, workshop, panel or demonstration, please submit your proposal by the deadline of October 22nd. Show us what drives creativity and connection in this year’s Open Metaverse.

Important dates and deadlines

• October 2 – Call for proposals announced!
• October 22 – Proposals Deadline: 11:59 PM Pacific Time
• October 30 – Offer acceptance email and meeting information provided.
• November 17 – Approved speakers must register for the conference to create entries on the conference schedule and program.
• November 11 and 18 – Speaker orientation and training sessions and speaker booth setup to prepare speakers for the conference.
• November 27 – Deadline for stage props and audiovisual materials (excluding textures) for the conference program.
• December 9-10, 2023 – OSCC23 Conference Date!
